PAL Media Golf tees off today

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—The country’s fraternity of sports editors and sportswriters showcase their shotmaking skills starting today in the PAL Interclub Media golf tournament at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club and nearby Del Monte Country Club in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The media golfest is a sideshow of the annual PAL Interclub and is usally held in between the Seniors and the Regular Men’s Interclub tournaments.

Seeing action in the media tournament for Davao City are Jon Develos of Mindanao Times and Neil Bravo of the Mindanao Daily Mirror. They will be competing against the likes of Lito Tacujan of Philippine Star, Rey Bancod, and Ding Marcelo of Manila Bulletin, Jun Engracia, Jong Arcano and Musong Castillo of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Al Mendoza of Business Mirror and Nimrod Quinonez of Freeman Cebu.

The tournament is a 36-hole event using the PAL Stableford system of scoring.

This year’s edition of the PAL Interclub is backed by platinum sponsors Boeing, Airbus, Radio Mindanao Network, Business Mirror and Interactive Broadcast Media (DWWW). Major sponsors are People Asia, 105.1 Crossover, GE Aviation, Asia Brewery Inc. and Traversing the Orient.

Also lending support are corporate sponsors Manila Bulletin and Bombo Radyo Philippines, while minor sponsors are Lufthansa Technik Philippines, MasterCard and Century Park Hotel. Prize donors include Panasonic Avionics and Tanduay. (NJB)
